Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Today we are bringing a list of best open source source software which are best alternatives of Adobe Photoshop or any photo editing or designing software. These softwares are easy to use and also very small in size (so you can use the rest space for your other documents). I have used some of these softwares like Gimpshop, Amaya, Aptana etc.

1.  Gimp 2.6

Gimp is an open source software which is the best alternative of Adobe Photoshop and also the functionality is very similar to Adobe Photoshop. The Menu, standard bar everything that you see in Photoshop you can find in Gimp also. Its easy to use and very small in size but it has all the functions that you want. It is Compatible to all the operating systems.

2. Gimpshop

If you believe in just functionality then you can download Gimp 2.6 and can enjoy you designing but if you want the similar or you can say totally similar look to Adobe Photoshop CS4. Like menus , dialogue boxes etc ..that means everything then you can download Gimpshop.

Gimpshop is a hack made on the top of the original Gimp Project.  This makes users who are already familiar with the layout of Photoshop feel right at home in this open source application.

For functionality and as well as look must install Gimp 2.6 and Gimpshop together. It’ll not exceed more than 50 MB so your data still have enough space to move here and there and your system will not feel much burden.
